As end-of-year testing at Glen Arden Elementary School came to a close, DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville – Biltmore delivered a special treat to thank teachers and staff.

On Friday, May 31, DoubleTree team members, including General Manager Robert Foster and Assistant General Manager Salem Rana, delivered boxes filled with cookie tins to the elementary school.

There were 100 total cookie tins, each full of famous DoubleTree cookies, given in gratitude to teachers and staff for their faithful investment in the lives of the next generation.

The 100 tins represented part of DoubleTree’s celebration of Hilton’s 100th anniversary. As part of the anniversary celebration, Hilton leadership challenged hotels in the Hilton family around the globe to find ways to participate in acts of hospitality outside their hotel doors.

For DoubleTree, the idea to support teachers came easily, as the hotel leadership is heavily involved in supporting career growth and opportunities for people in their own Western North Carolina community.

“Working in the hospitality industry has been one of the most impactful and rewarding life choices I’ve made to this point,” said Rana, the assistant general manager. “It is a way of life that means caring for everyone with whom I interact, whether a guest walking through the hotel’s front doors, or a community organization like this elementary school. Serving is a privilege and I’m proud to be part of a team that prioritizes service every single day.”
