Harvest vegetables

The Buncombe County Extension Master Gardeners Saturday Seminar presents:Planning a Fall Vegetable Garden, which takes place on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at the NC Cooperative Extension Buncombe County Center, 49 Mount Carmel Road in Asheville.

The class will be presented by Alan Wagner and Barb Harrison, Extension Master Gardener Volunteers.

Even though the weather is warm and you are harvesting summer vegetables, it is not too early to start thinking about a fall vegetable garden. Many times we are determined to have a productive fall garden, but end up with little to harvest because we did not plan ahead.

Join the seminar and begin planning your fall vegetable garden. Our presenters will discuss what and when to plant, and will give tips for extending the growing season with cold frames, hoops, and row covers.

The talk is free but registration is requested by calling 828-255-5522.
