It was a dominating week on the pitch for the Asheville Christian Academy girls soccer team. They punished Legacy Early College, consistently peppering the back of the net throughout the contest. The Lions scored five goals in the first half and followed that with four more goals in the second to put away Legacy 9-0.

The Lions followed the blowout win with an impressive second half performance against conference rival Asheville School. Both ACA goals came in the second half, which gave the Lions the 2-1 victory over the Blues. After the two wins last week the Lions pull their record a little closer to the .500 mark and now stand at 4-7 overall. This Lions look to continue their winning streak this week with matches against Christ Church Episcopal and Providence Academy.

In other spring sports action, the boys tennis team picked up their first win of the season with a 5-4 match victory over the Asheville Trailblazers. In the number one singles match, ACA’s Alex Carver knocked off his opponent 6-0, 6-0. Eli Poole won the number two singles match 6-2, 6-2, while Kevin Li picked up the win in the third singles with a hard fought 6-4, 7-5 win.

In doubles action, Alex Carver and Oliver Poole won the number one doubles match 8-2. Eli Poole and Kevin Li brought home the number two doubles match 8-2, securing the overall match victory for the Lions.

The Lion baseball team had one game washed out last week but despite the weather managed to get one game in as they travelled to Greensboro to take on Caldwell Academy. The Lions came up one run short falling to Caldwell 8-7. The loss brings the Lions overall record to 7-7. They take the field again this week against conference rival Christ School.
