The Asheville Christian Academy baseball team traveled to High Point over the weekend to take on fellow NCISAA 3A member High Point Christian Academy.

The Lions ran into a buzz saw both on the mound and at the plate. In the first half of the doubleheader ACA finished the first inning with High Point scoreless but six runs by High Point in the second inning blew the game open. The young Lions team struggled at the plate eventually being no hit by the High Point pitching staff. The final score of the first game was 10-0.

The score of the second game also finished at 10-0 as High Point scored five runs in the first inning and cruised to the victory. The Lions did pick up two hits in the second game to prevent a second no hitter. The start to the young season has the Lions sitting with a 1-2 overall record. This week the Lions will be on the road to take on Gaston Christian and then host the Asheville Trailblazers.

The ACA girls soccer team kicked off their season on the road at Charlotte Country Day School last week but fell 3-0. The game was scoreless at the halftime break but three goals in the second half proved to be the difference. The Lions have an extended break upcoming and will get back into action during the third week of March.
