Embroidered ornament

The Laurel Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA) will meet in person on Thursday, Nov. 4.

The program will be led by Cathryn Herrell, one of the founding members of the chapter. It is titled “Imagination.”

Chapter members will be encouraged to imagine and create a holiday ornament or other Christmas items without using a pattern. The materials to be used in designing include a collection of Christmas fabrics, laces, beads, threads, felt, wire and more. There are no rules for this needle art project.

The meeting will get underway at Cummings United Methodist Church, 3 Banner Farm Road in Etowah/Horse Shoe, North Carolina.

Registration will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m., followed by a short business meeting. The program will continue to noon. Visitors are welcome.
