The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is rolling out a new themed excursion for Easter weekend: The Bunny Hopper Express Easter Train on April 2 and 3.

Riders will disembark for an egg hunt with prizes at a picturesque layover destination. Easter bunnies visit with children in the train cars and pose for photos along the way. Passengers also will get an Easter activity bag for the ride and an Easter treat.

The ride is 4.5 hours round trip, departing from the historic Bryson City Depot at 10:30 a.m. and traveling along the Nantahala Gorge River.

Tickets start at $32 for ages 2-12 and $56 for adults. Information at www.gsmr.com or 800-872-4681.
