Franny Tacy, co-founder of Franny’s Farm and Franny’s Farmacy, celebrates her birthday by asking her friends and family to join her in a dance party benefiting her passion project, Women in Hemp.

Women in Hemp supports, encourages, and empowers the women who are leading the hemp initiative whether through agriculture, research, medical or consumer products. They are mothers, wives, daughters, grandmothers and sisters, focused, committed and united in realizing their goal of making a difference through hemp. Check out their latest article featuring Franny Tacy in the Chicago Tribune here.

Franny was the first female farmer to plant hemp in North Carolina and supporting women in the hemp industry is no “side project.” This year, Women in Hemp teamed up with NC State and have seven regional hemp grows, including one at Franny’s Farm. The research from these grows will pave the way for future hemp farmers nationally and globally.

Franny Tacy’s Birthday shindig will be held on Aug. 9 from 6-11 p.m. at Ambrose West with a suggested donation of $5. There will be a DJ spinning the tunes, a photobooth with cannabis friendly props and lots of woodstock themed costumes. In addition, Franny’s Farmacy will be having a sale online and will be donating 5 percent of revenue to Women in Hemp, coupon code “franny50.”
