Asheville’s favorite January running event is back. Isaac Dickson School will be the location for the 2020 Asheville Hot Chocolate Races, taking place on Saturday, Jan. 25. There will be several race events held for adults and their young ones, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The kids Marshmallow Dash starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 1K Kids Hill Climb starts at 8:40 a.m. The official 10K will start at 9 a.m. and the 5K will start at 9:15 a.m. The 5K and 10K will be chip timed by Right On Time Productions. Choose the one that fits you and your child.

Race day will kick off with a warmup in the gymnasium followed by both kids races, which will end before the start of the 5K and 10K. Children ages 12 and under can register for the Marshmallow Dash or the 1K Hill Climb, and parents are encouraged to run alongside their young ones or wait by the finish line.

All runners can enjoy a steaming cup of cocoa post race thanks to French Broad Chocolates and Whole Foods Market.
