ACA volleyball sweeps through conference play

The Asheville Christian Academy volleyball team righted the ship last week.  After dropping four consecutive games they rebounded with victories of conference foes Carolina Day, Rabun Gap and Asheville School.

Against Carolina Day the Lions cruised to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-18 victory. Avery Jackson led the Lions with seven kills.  Reese Waites, Paige McDonald and Kaylee Gilkeyson each added six kills.  Setter, Emerson Hoyle finished the match with 29 assists. 

The Lions took out Rabun Gap in a thrilling matchup.  The Lions took the first two games 25-15 and 25-21 but the Eagles stormed back winning the third game 25-18 and the fourth game 26-24.  ACA was able to regroup in the fifth game winning 15-11. Reese Waites spearheaded the Lion attack by finishing with thirteen kills. Paige McDonald added 12 kills.  Hoyle increased her assist total by notching 42 for the match.

In the weeks final game the Lions knocked off the Blues from Asheville School 25-15, 27-25, 25-11.  Next up for the Lions are matches against Statesville Christian and High Point Christian Academy.  The Lions currently stand at 11-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play.  Currently they are the MaxPreps ranked #47 in the state.
