Join American Rivers, Mountain True, American Whitewater and New Belgium Brewing Company to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at New Belgium Asheville. New Belgium will have swag giveaways and opportunities take action on behalf of rivers near and far.

The event is also featuring the short film, PROTECTED: A Wild & Scenic River Portrait.

There will be eclectic jams from Matt Walsh and the Movers, with $3 Fat Tire Amber Ale and Fat Tire Belgian White.

North Carolina has five rivers with Wild & Scenic designation. Four of these are within 100 miles of the New Belgium Asheville Brewery: Chattooga River, Wilson Creek, New River and Horsepasture River. All tips collected will be donated to these outstanding nonprofit partners, supporting their work to protect and restore our nation’s rivers.

“Let’s raise a glass and our awareness for the lifeblood of the community and our brewery — RIVERS,” said New Belgium spokesperson Michael Craft.

Admission is free; all ages are welcome.

New Belgium Brewing is at 21 Craven St., in Asheville’s River Arts District. Visit or call 828-333-6900.
