The Salvage Station, 468 Riverside Drive, welcomes Steve Earle and The Dukes and Los Lobos to its outdoor stage, rain or shine, starting at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets, $35 (advance); $40 (at door). The Root Down Kitchen offers vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Downtown drum circle, Pritchard Park, Patton Avenue at College Street. Get your drum on at this Friday-night summer staple. Bring your own instrument or join the party by trying your hand at community drums, or just move to the beat. The event is popular with locals and visitors. Admission is free.

Saturday, Sept. 4

Ooh La La Curiosity Market, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 67 Pritchard Park, 67 Patton Ave. Find one-of-a-kind treasures and art items while enjoying live music. The fair is a fundraiser for Animal Haven, a no-kill shelter in East Asheville.

Monday, Sept. 6

Red, White & Blue Labor Day Golf Tournament at Apple Valley Golf Course, 309 Winesap Road, Lake Lure. Shotgun fee, $20, plus golf fee. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Open to men and women; all players will receive 100% of their handicap. Call the pro shop, 828-694-3043.
