Costume Drama: A Fashion Show will be streaming online on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and you're invited.
Costume Drama: A Fashion Show is an eclectic evening of inventive fashion. Thirteen local designers compete in this Project Runway-esque show, with proceeds to benefit Asheville Community Theatre.
Designers compete for title of Asheville's Best in Show and $500 by creating wearable art in designated categories.
All tickets are $25 plus taxes and fees and benefit the Asheville Community Theater.
This year’s Costume Drama will be filmed and released as a pay-per-view event.
Because of the extraordinary circumstances in which we find ourselves this year, designers will each create a garment from the unconventional materials to which they have access.
Instead of winning a material category this year, all designs will be eligible to win a design category:
- Best Concept or Story (the inspiration behind the piece and how the piece conveys that story)
- Best Unexpected Material
- Best Creativity
- Best Composition (garment, accessories, styling)
The Best in Show winner will be chosen from these 4 designs. As in years past, Best in Show will receive a $500 prize, and the other three winners will each receive a $250 prize.
