Stonefield

2019 will be another busy year for Australian, psych-rock luminaries Stonefield as they kick off the new year with another North American tour, hitting the road with recording artist King Tuff in January.

They are making a stop in Asheville on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for an evening show at 7 p.m. at The Grey Eagle. Tickets are on sale now and cost $18-$20.

The tour is in support of their third studio LP, Far From Earth, released earlier this year on King Gizzard's Flightless Records via Inertia Music. The release has kept them in demand and on the road, with a headlining tour in their native Australia, a sold-out leg with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, a Los Angeles residency at the Bootleg Theater, and most recently, a headlining tour of Europe and the UK. The band's new video for 'In The Eve' was directed by Gilbert Trejo, produced by Hassan Galedary, and styled by Lisa Madonna.

"Far From Earth," produced by Black Mountain's Stephen McBean and featuring Rob Campanella from Brian Jonestown Massacre and Gregg Forman from Cat Power, is the latest addition to an extensive catalog that the four Findlay sisters have been officially releasing since 2010, but a catalog they have been building since the days when they were only as tall as the strange stone formations that surround their hometown in Australia's rural south-east. For over a decade, the band have seemingly existed within their own stellar nebula; unaffected by fleeting modern musical trends, their sound is a homage to the prog, metal and psych powerhouses of the 70s whilst remaining completely their own.
