Puffed-rice pumpkins

Yield: 6 pumpkins

INGREDIENTS:

6 cups puffed rice cereal (Rice Krispies)

10-ounce package of marshmallows

3 Tablespoons butter

12 pretzel sticks

1 green Fruit Roll-Up

Yellow and red food coloring

Brown cake icing

INSTRUCTIIONS:

Melt the butter in a pan.

When butter is melted, add marshmallows and melt over low heat.

Remove pan from heat and add food coloring to mixture until it turns a beautiful orange color. Use four parts yellow to two parts red.

Add puffed rice cereal and mix well.

Shape into baseball-size balls.

Cut “leaves” out of fruit roll and place on top of each pumpkin.

Cut pretzel sticks in half; stick one half into each pumpkin to make a stem, attaching the leaf in the process.

(Pumpkins can be prepared in advance and children can decorate their own pumpkins with the brown cake icing.)
