Provisions Mercantile will be a place for families to converge this holiday season as festive events are planned throughout December at its flagship store at 728 Haywood Road.

“Provisions is more than a store, it is a place for the community to gather,” said Heather Wright, the store’s founder.

In a previous career, Wright was an events planner, so it is no wonder she and her team have cooked up some great events to ring in the holidays for Asheville.

With events like local artisan pop-up shops, cookie decorating and a men’s panic party, there are events and gifts for everyone to enjoy.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Mercantile invites creative kids to create their best holiday cookie design with enjoying a mug of hot cocoa during a Cookie Decorating & Cocoa for Kids event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A week later, on Dec. 11, music with local artist Kate Thomas will fill the air from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Then, on Dec. 16, Provisions opens the store for what is sure to be a fun and exciting Men’s Panic Party. This men’s shopping experience will pair live music with bourbon cocktails, shopping assistance and gift wrapping.
