Asheville’s local beloved celebrity, Emmy-nominated Katrina “Kat” Williams has survived a kidney transplant and is saying “thank-you” to her community of supporters.

Presented by The Asheville Renaissance Hotel, the “With Gratitude” Concert stars Kat Williams with Free Planet Radio and Richard Shulman plus special guests. A VIP Champagne reception starts at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. on Friday night, June 21, in the Asheville Renaissance Ballroom.

“I am ecstatic about sharing the amazing journey where many folks volunteered to donate their kidney,” Williams said. “Talk about humbling...and feeling so much thanks.”

Luckily, one of these 80 remarkable volunteers made a medical match. While, the donor wishes to remain anonymous, Kat describes her donors and community of supporters as “living angels,” “amazing heroes” and her doctors at Duke and Mission, “medical geniuses.”

A much beloved vocalist, composer, actress, and producer, Williams has endured a life of hardship and struggle, yet she keeps on fighting back with joy, song, and creativity.

“When I get on stage, I hope you will feel the power of love I am trying to convey,” Williams said.

“I also want to let everyone know that I am producing this concert because I owe a deep debt of gratitude to everyone who stood by me during last year’s ordeal,” Williams said. Kat Williams’ gratitude party features Free Planet Radio, Richard Shulman, plus special guests. A VIP Champagne reception starts at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. on Friday night, June 21, in the Asheville Renaissance Ballroom. Tickets are on sale at www.kat.fm.
