Bassoniverse

Pan Harmonia is going Back to the Bassooniverse, an adventure in music for the fantastic and charming bassoon. Western North Carolina’s brightest band of bassoonists will return to the stage at Biltmore United Methodist church for the third annual bassooniverse celebration on Sunday, Jan. 26.

Audiences will enjoy a brilliant program of music — both lighthearted and expressive — for bassoon and its lower cousin the contrabassoon. In this fun and informative offering, musicians will engage the audience with little known facts about the instrument. The Bassooniverse quartet is asking audience members to BYOB — Bring your own Bassoon! If you play bassoon and would like to participate in the concert, please arrive by 2 p.m. with your bassoon, a neck strap (if possible), and a music stand in hand. We will read a simple and beautiful piece to perform as a large group after intermission.

Back to the Bassooniverse, Adventures in Music for 4 Bassoons will be held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Biltmore United Methodist Church Asheville

It will feature bassoonists Rosalind Buda, Jennifer Anderson, Susan Cohen, Will Peebles. Tickets available at www.panharmonia.org/shop. The cost is$20 in advance, $25 at the door, $5 Students under 26.
