The December exhibit at the Asheville Gallery of Art focuses on joy this month with images reminiscent of the season.
“Joyful Light” runs through Dec. 31 and features works by numerous artists in a variety of mediums.
Artist Patricia Veatch’s “Merry Berry” is an oil on canvas that capture’s Veatch’s favorite holiday.
“Christmas has always been my favorite time of year,” Veatch said. “I love Christmas most of all for the opportunity to be with family and share our traditions. After a very isolated zoom Christmas last year, our family is going to celebrate with gusto.”
Sally Lordeon has “Sunlight Thru the Trees” on display.
The acrylic captures short days and eternal light.
“The gift of gleaming sunlight that shines through the thickest forest and brings us the joy of another beautiful day,” is how Lordeon describes her work.
As for artist Raquel Egosi, “Terpsichore” is an acrylic abstract that celebrates the joy of dance, the exuberance of life and the creativity of performance and stage lights.
The Asheville Gallery of Art is open daily, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
