Béla Fleck

Brevard Music Center (BMC), in collaboration with Mountain Song Productions, proudly announces the return of Béla Fleck for his acclaimed Blue Ridge Banjo Concert—Saturday, Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium.

The final concert of BMC’s 2019 festival season represents the culmination of Fleck’s second Blue Ridge Banjo Camp at the Music Center and features an all-star lineup of banjo virtuosos, including Tony Trischka, Kristin Scott Benson, Alan Munde, Noam Pikelny, and special guests Bryan Sutton and Sierra Hull.

Béla Fleck’s Blue Ridge Banjo Concert is part of the “BMC Presents” series of non-classical artists and concerts that showcase multiple genres including jazz, R&B, pops, bluegrass and more. Lawn tickets start at $20.

Frequently touted as “one of the world’s premier banjo players,” Béla Fleck has reinvented the image and sound of the banjo through remarkable performing and recordings that have taken him all over the musical map. The 15-time GRAMMY Award winner, nominated in more categories than any other instrumentalist in GRAMMY history, is a powerfully creative force globally in bluegrass, jazz, classical pop, rock, and world beat.

“Béla Fleck will strike a unique and wondrous chord with a wide range of music lovers as we bring the 2019 BMC Summer Festival to a captivating close,” said Brevard Music Center President & CEO Mark Weinstein. “We are always delighted to welcome Béla and his acclaimed Blue Ridge Banjo Camp back to Brevard and thrilled to celebrate the culmination of another popular BMC Presents series with this inspiring bluegrass legend. Don’t miss your chance to see this concert—a sell-out performance in 2018!”

Tickets to BMC Presents Béla Fleck’s Blue Ridge Banjo Concert start at $20 on the lawn and can be purchased at www.brevardmusic.org, at the box office or by calling the BMC Box Office at 828-862-2105.
