Local Seniors Sign to Row at UNC-Chapel Hill

Asheville Youth Rowing Association has announced that two young women have signed contracts to row at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill next year.

Ashley Lim is a senior at TCRoberson and has been a coxswain with Asheville Youth RowingAssociation since she was in the sixth grade.  Ashley will join her fellow teammate and TCRoberson senior Muskan Chhina who signed a contract to row next year at Chapel Hill last November.
Zoe Rose is a senior at Enka High School and has been a rower with Asheville Youth RowingAssociation since the seventh grade.
These three young women will join Asheville Youth Rowing Association alumnae Abby Hudspeth and Caleigh Sewell who are rowing as freshmen at Chapel Hill this year.
Asheville Youth Rowing Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing to the youth of Western North Carolina.
We would love for reporters and photographers to attend this signing ceremony and would appreciate any media coverage you may be able to provide.  Rowing is a non-traditional sport in North Carolina, particularly in Western North Carolina, but although we are only nine years old, this is the sixth consecutive year that we have had members of our crew sign contracts to row in college.
Our team members come from Buncombe, Henderson and Transylvania counties.
