Tom Hunter, with Hunter Automotive in Hendersonville, was elected Chairman of The North Carolina Automobile Dealership Association (NCADA) at this year’s annual family convention in Amelia Island, Florida.
Hunter, who lives in Biltmore Park, graduated from Davidson College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He was selected to attend UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and graduated with honors in 1999.
Prior to earning his undergraduate degree, Tom worked for a startup joint venture between MidSouth Financial and Centura Bank. Following his MBA, Tom worked as a mergers and acquisitions associate for Brookwood Associations LLC, an investment bank in Charlotte NC. In 2002, he joined his family’s company, Hunter Corporation, Inc. While attending NADA’s Dealer Academy, Tom worked at all positions within the dealership, from the parts counter, to sales and to Sales Manager. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hunter Corporation. Hunter, a fourth generation dealer, has previously served the association as Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-President.
“We are looking forward to an outstanding year under Mr. Hunter’s leadership,” said Robert Glaser, President of NCADA. “Mr. Hunter brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. We are certain that with his commitment to the local community, vast business expertise, and unyielding support of local dealers, North Carolina will continue to thrive as a leader in the franchised automobile dealership industry.”
