Carolina Day Girls Basketball Wins Seventh Straight Championship

The Carolina Day School girls varsity basketball team won their seventh straight NCISAA 2A state championship. They won 59-40 over Davidson Day.

“We continued a legacy and I’m so excited about that,” said senior Ralene Kwiatkowski.

“We’re a young team, but we’re experienced,” said Coach Joe Carrington. “When you are fortunate enough to play in so many state-championship games, everyone gets that experience. This group really developed an identity this season. They really turned into a team as the season went on.”

Senior Halei Gillis, senior Ralene Kwiatkowski, and junior Kasey Kidwell were named to the NCISAA 2A all-state team.

The Wildcat community gathered together to celebrate the varsity girls basketball team in an all-school celebration.
