Brother Wolf is AYC’s Charity of the Month

Asheville Yoga Center has selected Brother Wolf Animal Sanctuary as July 2017 Charity of the Month

Poses for puppies. Headstands for hamsters. Backbends for bunnies. Asheville Yoga Center has chosen Brother Wolf Animal Sanctuary as its July Charity of the Month.

The Charity of the Month program is AYC’s way of giving back and saying “thank you” to the community that has been supporting it for 20 years.

To raise funds, there will be donation boxes in AYC’s studio and boutique starting July 1, and on Thursday, July 27, 10 percent of drop-in and community class sales will be donated to Brother Wolf.

AYC will also donate $250.

“There’s a strong connection between yoga and the natural world,” said Melissa Pennscott, a general manager at Asheville Yoga Center. “And with so many animal lovers among our students and teachers, raising funds for Brother Wolf is a perfect fit for our Charity of the Month program. We’re thrilled to be able to support such a valuable cause.”

“Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is super grateful to Asheville Yoga Center for choosing them as a recipient of this fundraiser. Funds raised from this event will be directed towards the medical needs of the over 600 animals that are in Brother Wolf’s care on any given day,” said Denise Bitz, founder and president of Brother Wolf Animal Sanctuary.
