Bambino Sitters Launches in Asheville

Bambino Technologies, Inc. announces the expansion of its babysitting app in Asheville and the surrounding areas.

Bambino is a mobile app that modernizes the way parents find, book, and pay trusted local sitters. The app enables parents to find sitters who are connected to them through friends and neighbors. Moreover, Bambino relies on its hyper-local nature to provide a layer of trust and comfort for caring parents.

After downloading the free app and creating a profile, parents simply enter details for when they need a sitter, preview the available sitters, and choose the best one for the job. Bambino also tracks the duration of the sit and, once the job is done, parents pay the sitter right through the app.

Parents are no longer tasked with entering into awkward rate negotiations or searching for cash to pay the sitter. Instead, they give their sitter a rating and can include them in their favorites for future sits. And because every sitter on Bambino is parent-recommended, each new recommendation helps the next parent who needs to find a trusted sitter.

Bambino is babysitting made easy. To enhance the neighborhood connection, each Bambino community is launched by a Community Manager. Jenny Bauernfeind lives in the Biltmore Park in South Asheville. She and her husband, Greg, a VP at Cab Hound (a local software company), have two young children in kindergarten and first grade at WW Estes Elementary. Jenny volunteers with the Estes PTA and her children stay active playing soccer with ABYSA, dance at Center Stage, and baseball with South Buncombe Youth Sports.

Bambino was founded in June 2015 by Sean Greene, a Pacific Palisades, California, resident. The idea was born one evening when plans were canceled because Greene simply couldn’t come up with a sitter. Meanwhile, as he drove through his neighborhood he thought of the dozens of potential sitters at home on their couches who would probably rather be making money and watching his kids; but he had no way of reaching them. A year later, Bambino launched with Greene as CEO.

Since its release on June 10, 2016, Bambino has been catching on with families and sitters alike. The app initially launched solely in Pacific Palisades and has already become the number one app on the west side of LA for finding local babysitters. Bambino has more registered local LA sitters than any other babysitting platform and is becoming the go-to childcare solution.

“Already, Bambino is becoming a major part of families’ lives,” said Greene. “As Bambino reintroduces flexibility into busy parents’ lives, they are finding opportunities to use the app multiple times a week, with durations ranging from a couple of hours to a full day. It’s a really exciting indication that our modernized approach to sitting is resonating with the community.”

In late 2016, Bambino expanded throughout Los Angeles and launched in Manhattan Beach, Orlando, Chicago and Fairfield County, Connecticut. In March 2017 Bambino became available everywhere in the continental US, with specific launches in 30 communities across the country.
