A-B Tech Students Display Baking and Pastry Arts Capstone Projects

A-B Tech Baking and Pastry Arts graduating students displayed their capstone projects on Thursday, April 6 in the college’s Magnolia Building.

The Baking and Pastry Arts capstone is a high point or a crowning achievement for the students, it brings the last two years together and lets the students show what they have been working at and growing talent.

“It takes a little from each previous core class and ties it all together in that final capstone event,” said Chef Vince Donatelli, Lead Baking and Pastry Arts Instructor.

Each student is required to create a variety of chocolates, candies, and petit fours, two varieties of tortes, showpieces of sugar and chocolate, a special occasion cake, a bread display, and a plated dessert. Students are also required to submit a business plan to complete their own themed bakery.
