Dr. Michael S. Trayford, founder and director of innovation at APEX Brain Centers in south Asheville, received the distinct honor and recognition of being named Functional Neurology Practitioner of the Year for 2017 at the 8th annual conference of the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation (IAFNR) this past weekend in Las Vegas, NV.
This recognition follows Dr. Trayford’s work in clinical research and educating health care providers on the role of applied neuroscience in addiction recovery. Also, his published research on movement and its impact on higher cognitive abilities; which led to the opportunity to present his research at Oxford University this past July.
IAFNR’s purpose is to promote, protect and advance interdisciplinary scientific and clinical functional neurology and rehabilitation sciences worldwide.
