Carolina Furniture Concepts Opens New Store in Arden

CFC owner Sandeep Gupta

Carolina Furniture Concepts celebrated the grand opening of its new 64,000 square-foot store in Arden on Friday, July 28.

“We’re very fortunate to be in this community,” said store owner Sandeep Gupta. “We’re very grateful for the support of the Western North Carolina community.”

Nearly 300 people who came to the day-long event had an opportunity to see 12 new lines of furniture including Natuzzi, an Italian leather brand of sofas and chairs.

Sales associates were assisting customers with purchases as others walked through the large store and gazed at a vast array of sofas, chairs, dining room furniture, bedroom suites and home entertainment furnishings. The store also has a large selection of home and office furniture, lounge chairs designed for home theater seating and mattresses. Accessories such as rugs, lamps and decorative items also are available for purchase.

Carolina Furniture Concepts has an extensive collection of more than 1,000 upholstery fabrics, which customers can select for sofas and chairs they purchase.

“We are a one-stop home furnishings store,” said Gupta. “We carry good, better and best furniture.”

Gupta also said that his store offers as much domestically produced furniture as possible to its customers. And upholstery work is done in the United States, he noted.

Familiar brands of furniture such as Klaussner, Basset, Thomasville and England are on display at the store along with Steinworld, Craftmaster and Ashley. Mattress brands include Temper-Pedic, Beautyrest and Serta.

Locally owned and operated, Carolina Furniture Concepts opened its first store in Fletcher in 2002. Gupta opened a second store opened in Waynesville in 2007, which has now expanded to more than 30,000 square feet. The store in Arden has the largest space and 12 new employees.

Before launching his first store 15 years ago, Gupta worked in the Oriental rug business in Hickory where he learned about the furniture industry.

Carolina Furniture Concepts has received numerous community awards such as the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Sky High Growth Award for outstanding growth in sales several times, according to a press release. It also has been voted “best furniture store” by readers of the Asheville Citizen Times and The Mountaineer.

The company also contributes to area charities including the News13 Break the Hunger annual food drive to benefit Children’s First Communities and Schools.

Carolina Furniture Concepts is at 100 Airport Rd. in Arden. The Waynesville store is a 121 Eagles Nest Road.
