Rocky Cove Railroad, guided trail, garden walks return to NC Arboretum

ALL ABOARD — The Rocky Cove Railroad exhibit has reopened at the NC Arboretum. See Thomas the Train and learn about the coming of trains to Western North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century in this G-scale (garden scale) model train.

The North Carolina Arboretum’s popular Rocky Cove Railroad exhibit has reopened for the season. See Thomas the Train and learn about the coming of trains to Western North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century.

The G-scale (garden scale) model train will run every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. through October, weather permitting. The Rocky Cove Railroad will not operate in rainy or wet conditions.

The Arboretum’s guided trail and garden walks also return in April. Trail Walks have resumed and will be held at 1 p.m. every Saturday and Tuesday. Garden Walks begin April 21 and will be held at 10 a.m. every Friday. Both walks will start from the Baker Exhibit Center lobby.

The Arboretum’s spring/summer property hour schedule has begun. Visitors can enjoy the gardens and trails from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day through October.
