Cold Mountain Music festival to entertain June 3

Event to be held at stunning Lake Logan, in the shadow of Cold Mountain

The Lake Logan Episcopal Center will host an inaugural music festival, Cold Mountain Music from noon – 10 p.m. Saturday, June 3, featuring Grammy-award winning bands, the Steep Canyon Rangers and Balsam Range, plus other excellent musical entertainment. The event will raise funds and awareness for Lake Logan.

The top-notch entertainment line-up is:

2 p.m. Billy Strings

3:15 p.m. Town Mountain

4:45 p.m. Love Canon

7:15 p.m. Balsam Range

8:30 p.m. Steep Canyon Rangers

  • Activities

This is a family-friendly event. In addition to an afternoon and evening of top-notch musical talent, the festival will feature a kids’ area, food vendors and after-party at the Sit ‘n Whittle Lodge. In addition to Lake Logan’s outdoor recreation areas, there will be a children’s area, planned by the Camp Henry staff.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets, and wear sturdy shoes sufficient for outdoor terrain. No pets are allowed.

  • Food and beverage

The event will have several food trucks, along with beer and wine vendors. No outside food or drink is allowed. Bring cash for vendor purchases.

  • Parking, shuttles

If on-site parking is full attendees will be directed to a shuttle location. There will not be any additional charge for parking.

Shuttles will be available through Leap Frog Tours.

— Canton-Waynesville shuttle is $5 per person each way; available on the hour (11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., etc.). Pick up and drop off parking lot locations include Ingles (both Canton and Waynesville locations), Best Western (Waynesville) and Parking Deck (Waynesville).  There will also be a loop with downtown B&Bs and with Lake Junaluska, for the same time schedule.

— Asheville shuttle will be $8 per person each way; available every hour and a half (10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., etc.) Pick up and drop off parking lot locations include Ingles at the Outlet Mall, Earth Fare, Park N Ride at Exit 37, off of Interstate 40.

Lake Logan Episcopal Center is a stunning 300-acre property in Haywood County, just 30 miles from Asheville. Gates will open at noon for the event.
