Rhythm & Brews Kicks Off May 18

The Get Right Band

HENDERSONVILLE — Downtown Hendersonville kicks off the Rhythm & Brews Concert Series season on Thursday, May 18, 5-9 p.m. on S. Main Street.

Get your groove on for The Get Right Band, hailing from Asheville, with their combination of funk, rock “n” roll and reggae music. The band is known for taking an audience to their happy place with its breakout high energy performance.

Guitarist/Vocalist Silas Durocher and bassist Jesse Gentry have formed a musical brotherhood since playing together in middle school. Drummer Jian-Claude Mears pulls the band’s sound together with an unstoppable force. The band headlines from 7-9 p.m.

Calvin Get Down Band, a good times band, consists of a screaming horn section and tight rhythm section. The 5 man band plays a combination of retro funk and laid back groove and guarantees to get the crowd moving. The band opens at 6 p.m.

Singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist Sean Bendula starts the evening off at 5 p.m. His songs and earthy music are influenced by the woods, ocean and all that lies between.

Rhythm & Brews is a free concert. Local food, wine, beer, hard cider vendors are available to feed the crowd and quench the thirst. R&B is family friendly with Hands ON! Children’s Museum activities and the Pardee Hospital misting machine.

R&B is every 3rd Thursday evening May-September from 5-9 p.m.
